Spending time with your large family

Published by eight_of_us at 7:03 am under Uncategorized Edit This

When you have a lot of kids it can be really difficult spending quality time with your kids or your spouse. In my instance, I have six children and my wife of course so that is eight of us all together. After coming home from work I usually have about 4 hours if I’m lucky before I have to go to sleep for the next day of work. From that 4 hours lots of time has to go on showering, eating, writing out a couple checks for the bills, fixing that broken cabinet, calling the insurance company or the AAA or the DMV. You get the idea! Those 4 hours will get consumed so quick that you wonder how you can have any time for your family. I’ve made myself what I call a “child a day plan.” Basically I give one of my children an hour of my time each day. We can do whatever they want. We can read,  go outside and play ball or just sit and talk. My other kids do not get ignored but whoever’s day it is gets the special treatment for the day from me. With each kid of mine getting a  day and taking up 6 days from the week, the seventh day I try to spend time with my wife. It can be tough but if you have a large family then you can relate to how hard it is to spend time with the family and may want to get some type of plan like this going.
